Boost Your Sales, Get Publicity and Maybe an Etsy Front Page - Part II

There was a lot to read in the last "Boost Your Sales, Get Publicity and Maybe an Etsy Front Page" post. I hope I have given you all enough time to read the related storque articles and maybe put some of the tips to play. If not, don't worry about it. I still haven't made it through all of them.

Part I of this series taught us that it is important to take good photographs, write concise item descriptions and tag appropriately. There is more though to being a successful seller on Etsy and getting your shop noticed. Some other important things to keep in mind are:

1. Price your work correctly - There are a number of things to keep in mind when pricing your work - the cost of your supplies, the time you spent creating your items, the time you spent listing your items and of course, your competition. Don't undervalue yourself!

If you haven't downloaded the free Etsy Seller Worksheet yet, you may want to try it out. This spreadsheet will help you figure out your monthly profits, track orders, look over top selling items and keep on top of your shipping. Read more about it and download the spreadsheet here

I think the Art of Pricing will have to be a blog topic of its own. Stay tuned for it, I've got some reading to do.

2. Write clear and concise shop policies - Make sure your customers know exactly what they can expect from you.

3. Improve your profile - Believe it or not, many buyers DO read seller profiles. Write something that will spark interest. Don't be scared to tell a little bit about yourself. Let your buyers know you are human, not just another online store.

There are still a few more things we need to learn but this will be all for today. Once again, I will let you have a few days before I bombard you with more useful information. There's only so much you can read and do at a time.

Enjoy the remainder of your weekend!

And remember to stop by TheHouseOfMouse's Business Topics thread to show your support. After all, she's the one who inspired me to post this information.
