Boost Your Sales, Get Publicity and Maybe an Etsy Front Page Treasury

Do you feel like you aren't getting enough sales on Etsy? You don't have enough publicity? It's impossible to get a front page treasury?

It's hard! There is a lot of competition on Etsy. That doesn't mean it isn't possible. It is! And Etsy provides a number of tips to make it easier. If you don't read The Storque regularly, you probably should begin. The Storque is constantly updated with articles to keep you up to speed and make you a better seller.

The Storque is not the only place to turn to when you feel like you are doing something wrong. The Business Topics section of the forums is full of useful information. If you have a question, ask it. Fellow Etsy members, buyers and sellers are almost always up to chatting and offering advice. The Critiques section is also good for this.

While browsing the Business Topics section late last week, I came across a thread titled "Get the sales, publicity and front page treasury feature you want *PART IV*." There were approximately 40 posts - sounded useful! Wow! The first post was so informative I didn't need to read much further. Many of you think I do my research - TheHouseOfMouse, the thread starter surely did hers. She provided a long list of storque articles, broken down by subject. Thanks TheHouseOfMouse for doing all my dirty work!

Over the next two weeks, I've decided to provide you with some of the articles TheHouseOfMouse provided on the thread, as well as some of the advice offered by the thread's contributors. It's a lot of information to digest so I will break it up into a few posts. Later I may decide to write about each one topic separately - forcing me to read the articles. Lucky for you, you'll get the cliff notes!

Here we go!
Some of the ways to get more sales, publicity and a front page treasury - Part I

1. Improve your photographs
Staying Sharp: Achieving Clarity and Crispness in Your Photos

Give Props: How to Style Your Photos

Shop Makeover series: Photographing for Success

On The Level: Make Your Photos Pop with Histograms and Levels

Bright Light, Big Color: Using EV and White Balance to Make Your Photos True to Life

2. Write good descriptions
Making the Most of Your Descriptions

3. Learn to tag appropriately
Shop Makeover series: Tagging for Success

Seller Tagging Tips: "A Semi-Epiphany on Tags"

Seller How-to: International Tagging, Yeah Baby!

Tagging Tips for Sellers: Kids, Baby, and Maternity

That's a lot of reading! I think I may cut this short at three tips and split this thread into three parts.

In the meantime, I hope you find these links useful. And stop by TheHouseOfMouse's shop and send her a thank you for pulling most of this together. Thanks Mouse!
